BML Munjal University, Gurugram.

23 - 24 March, 2019

about

About The Event

HackBMU is a hackathon focused on promoting innovation, diversity and networking among all future hackers. We will be hosting upcoming engineers and developers from all over India to create mobile, web, and hardware hacks for an intense 24-hour session.

Participants will be able to meet the up and coming of their generation, allowing them to get up to speed on new trends and quite possibly set new ones themselves. HackBMU seeks to provide a welcoming and supportive environment to all participants to develop their skills, regardless of their ethnicity.

Supporting Diversity

Last year, HackBMU 1.0 garnered huge attention with 100+ participants from all over the country. Also, we aimed to close the gender gap in hackathon participation and encouraged female participants to join up by reserving seats especially for them. The response was overwhelming, and nearly half of our participants were women. This year 20% of the seats are reserved for female participants along with some special prizes and swags.

  • HackBMU '19 will take place from March 23rd to 24th at BML Munjal University in Gurgaon, Haryana.

  • Become a mentor! Give back to the community by helping hackers learn and build something awesome.

  • Whatever you can think up! We’ll have mentors to help you with web, mobile, hardware, design, and any development in between!

  • After you apply, you will receive a confirmation email. Later, you'll get an acceptance email and you can RSVP to reserve your spot.

  • You will have 24 hours to build but we will also have an opening and closing ceremonies as well as the project expo. Prepare to spend your weekend with us starting Saturday morning and we’ll have you out around evening on Sunday. A more detailed scheduled will be released closer to the event.

  • Food. Enough free grub to keep you hacking for 24 hours. Dietary restrictions? No problem, we got you.

  • Awesome! We have prizes for newcomers, as the best way to learn is by building. There will be mentors to help you at every step of the way. We all start somewhere, why not here?

  • Anyone that is currently a college student or that has graduated in the past 2 year is invited. High schoolers can go ahead and apply and we'll notify you if any problems come about.

  • Teams have a maximum of 4. If you don’t have a team, no sweat, we will have a mixer for you to discuss ideas and meet other hackers to join forces.

  • No. In the interest of fairness, students should not be working on their projects before the hackathon begins and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects. However, you can familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand!

  • Bring your student ID, laptop, chargers, a change of clothes, your resume, and toiletries. A pillow and sleeping bag may be useful as well. You do not have to bring a team, idea, food, or any drinks. Please leave anything illegal at home.

  • The closest metro station is IFFCO Chowk. You can get a bus which runs from IFFCO to Dharuhera or Bhiwadi till the stop Raman Munjal School. It lies on the 67th km Milestone and is shortly after Mannat Dhaba and Fortune Park Orange.

  • In case you still have any queries, you can email us on the below mentioned email address. We will get back to you at the earliest.
